From the Founder’s Desk: The Story Behind King Energy Only
Tasliym Abdul-HamidShare
When I created King Energy Only, I wasn’t thinking about aesthetics or algorithms. I was thinking about how tired I was of shrinking. Tired of dimming my light to make others feel comfortable. Tired of holding it together for everyone else while denying myself the space to just be.
I spent most of my adult life in retail leadership. Fifteen years of showing up sharp, composed, and unshaken, even on days when I was unraveling inside. Like many of us, I learned how to power through. I learned how to lead. I learned how to serve. But I didn’t always learn how to care for myself in the process.
At some point, I realized I was constantly managing how others experienced me—toning things down, making myself smaller, more palatable. And I was done with that. I knew I wanted to build something that stood as a consistent reminder—not just for myself, but for anyone who needed it—that you don’t have to shrink. That your light is not too much. That you can take up space with confidence.
That’s what King Energy Only stands for.
The candles were the first offering because they came directly from my own ritual. After long, emotionally draining days, I’d come home, light a candle, put on music, and let the weight of the day lift. It helped me reset. So when I started thinking about creating something intentional, I began with what already brought me peace.
But I wasn’t interested in making just another candle. I wanted something clean and safe, made with essential oils and real ingredients. I started creating my own scent blends based on how I wanted to feel; grounded, clear, calm, energized. And I paired each one with a playlist designed to support that same energy. The product had to feel honest, and it had to serve a purpose.
Still, King Energy Only isn’t about products. It’s about presence. It’s about choosing yourself, unapologetically. It’s about walking into a room as your full self and carrying that same energy even when no one’s watching.
This brand is here to remind you: you never have to dim your light to belong!
